Born out of observation (and several cocktails) at some of our favorite boat-up bars in Texas, the Gulf Coast, and Caribbean, we came up with SwiftKnot.

A few years ago, at one of those previously mentioned bars, a family was coming into dock and we immediately felt for them. The kids were crying, Mom was trying to calm them, Dad was trying to drive and dock, ropes were getting thrown, fenders were flying, and the boat kept bouncing off the pilings. No sooner after they had finally sat down to order did they realize their boat had floated off into the middle of the marina. The “wrap the rope around the cleat and hope it’s good enough” wasn’t good enough this time.

After sitting back for several years and watching similar versions of this story unfold at countless marinas and docks, we decided to help our fellow boaters that weren’t docking experts.
